From Abingdon-on-the-Brazos: December 2012

Hello from Waco to all Texas MG enthusiasts and TMGR members. As I write this month’s column, it occurs to me that Thanksgiving will have come and gone before the next issue of Backroads arrives. Allow me to extend a belated Happy Thanksgiving to all!

And we do have much for which to be thankful. We have the privilege of living in the greatest country in the history of the world, a country which values freedom as its greatest ideal and diversity as its greatest strength. Our recently-concluded national elections, regardless of any partisan results, reflect both of these virtues as has every election in our history: we have the freedom to vote our own destiny, and we celebrate the wide diversities of opinion and of culture which make our country great by doing so.

How fortunate we are.

The remainder of the holidays are fast approaching, and I will take this opportunity to wish one and all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! While we won’t be having our Hangar Party this year, other holiday activities will be available. Information about these events can be found in our TMGR blast emailings, for which I want to thank our new “Web Geek” Fay Ratta of China Spring, TX. If you haven’t signed up for this email newsletter just yet, you can do so on the TMGR webpage.

Safety Fast for the holidays! See you next month!
